Crochet Basics I Scarf

Novice crocheters will learn to crochet a scarf with your choice of needle size and luscious yarn from Muddpuppy’s collection of beginner’s kits.

Length: 4 hours
Class Size: 8 maximum
Cost: $15.00 per person plus materials

Crochet Basics will teach chain, skip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet, as well as increasing and decreasing. These stitches are the foundation for making dishcloths to tank tops and anything in between. This course also provides the necessities for basic pattern reading.

Crochet Basics II Wrap

Use the same stitches as Crochet Basics, but for a more complex pattern

Freeform handbag

Take your beginning crochet to another level. Create a small bag with your first scrumbles using your choice of needle and freeform kits available at Muddpuppy’s.

Freeform Crochet teaches advanced stitches such as the bullion stitch as well as basic motifs. Beginning to advanced crocheters welcome.

Tunisian Crochet Hat

Learn to use the afghan hook to make a Tunisian crochet hat.

Dates: April29^th / May 14^th / June 11^th /July 9^th
Length: 4 hours
Class Size: 8 maximum
Cost: $15.00 per person plus materials
(Size N or larger Afghan hooks and yarn available at Muddpuppy’s)

Create fabrics that look woven instead of knit or crochet. Tunisian crochet uses less yarn than standard crochet, and considered by many to be a cross between knitting and crochet. This course covers basic stitches in Tunisian Crochet using a fast and easy hat pattern.

Evening Crochet Cafe

Dates: May 15^th& 29^th / June 12^th& 26^th / July 10^th & 24^th / August 7^th
Time: 6-8pm
Cost: $5.00

Every other Monday Come take a seat at the table, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and have access to a staff crocheter who can help you on your project, learn a technique or help problem solve. Get answers to your questions, make progress on your projects and learn from each other. We will be meeting all summer, and explore a number of issues and techniques, not necessarily all to do with Crochet! We welcome newcomers anytime, come in and join us!

Children’s Crochet

Bring a child to learn a few basic stitches.

Dates: June 25^th /July 23^rd / August 13^th
Length: 2 hours
Class Size: 6 pairs maximum
Cost: $20.00 per Adult/child pair plus materials (hooks and supply kits available at Muddpuppy’s)

In a step-by-step way, children will learn to make simple stitches first on their hands and then on a large hook. No previous experience required for adults or children. Come in comfortable clothes and enjoy our relaxed atmosphere for an afternoon of learning. Adults are encouraged to bring their own projects to work on while helping children learn. Some stitches will require a set of hands for every child.
